This is an interesting puzzle, but the map is 25 years out of date! In this age of Google maps, it was disappointing. Lack of a picture was not a problem for me because I know the area. Recognizing a street or building adds to the enjoyment (and to putting it together). Much harder if you don't know the area. Would rate higher except for the stale map.
This is a fun gift for someone who really likes unusual puzzles. Nice to give to someone either moving from to another house. Is smaller than I had expected, but very nicely packaged.[...]
Not so big that not having a picture to go by makes it impossible, but it IS challenging.
This is an excellent gift, but it does have one serious drawback. A printout of the map would be extremely helpful when putting it together. Given the price, it seems it should come with one.
This is a really great idea for the puzzle enthusiast. However, it did not come with a picture of what the puzzle is suppose to look like. This makes it real difficult to put the puzzle together. You have to kinda guess and hope the person knows their geographic area.
I haven't seen this product anywhere else. I have purchased 5 so far. No one else can have the same puzzle as you since it is your address. A bit pricey, but worth it. My gift recipients have been thrilled. It's so fun watching the puzzle take shape and adding your house piece at the end is great! [...]We frame the puzzle when complete and it gets many compliments and opens up lots of conversation. Buy one today!
I purchased this for my husband, who has everything. It is so unique. He immediately opened the box & started putting the puzzle together. He has told everyone how great this is.
this is a perfect gift to the family who has moved to a new area.....!
IT IS A WONDERFUL GIFT FOR THOSE YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT TO GET. I GOT THE PUZZLE FOR MY PARENTS FROM OUR HOMETOWN AND NOW MANY OF THEIR FRIENDS WANT ONE TOO.
There's no picture (or even color key) included which Acorn rep said is "more fun" but I say makes it ridiculously difficult. I called the company directly - in other countries a photo in included - just not for U.S. So if it's fun for you of yours to work blind with puzzle, having no idea what the colors indicate, it's a great gift. Personally, I believe the manufacturer should include photo for Americans as well as Brits, etc.
I own this puzzle for my address, and while it is challenging to put together, knowledge of the area you live in can be quite helpful in completing the puzzle. A picture to refer to would be helpful, but the puzzle can be completed. It is a great housewarming gift, especially for a first home. I'm purchasing two for Christmas gifts.
I purchased this puzzle for my father thinking it would be interesting for him. When I received the [$] puzzle it doesn't include a picture of what the puzzle is! How is he going to put this together? It should be labeled mystery puzzle!
Before receiving the puzzle I was very excited about this personalized item with my home town and address. This puzzle was impossible to do. There wasn't a picture of the map to use as a reference guide. I don't recommend unless you like to feel very frustrated! ANd to make things even more difficult, you must use reading glasses(even if you don't typically wear them) to see the names of streets on the puzzle pieces.
