I had been looking for quite a while for a solid oak DVD/CD storage cabinet that came assembled. When I saw this in the catalog, I immediately flagged the page and knew I was going to order it. Once it arrived and I set it up in my living room, I knew I had made a great purchase. It's sturdy and it makes a very nice appearance. It holds so many DVD's and CD's that I have about two shelves that are still empty for future use.
I was actually looking for a lawyers bookcase for my books. I found this item at Acorn and am using it for DVD's and VHS tapes. The mission style is an simple, classic style. The unit is well made and totally constructed.
I brought this cabinet to replace three smaller units that were holding VHS & DVD. This one cabinet holds them all in less space.
I wanted to replace several bulky custom-made boxes with a more compact CD/DVD storage unit. I looked for several months, and this was the best option I found. It arrived promptly and was easy to unpack and set up. It looks great. It is described as "oak" but that is not accurate. It is constructed of another lighter wood, but seems to be solid wood. I am somewhat skeptical about the long-term durability of the hinges and louvered doors. But I am happy to give it a try.
This is a very nice cabinet, fair quality but one door is a little crooked. For the price I can live with it.
Very Attractive Design Good FinishStores many CDs or DVDs in a compact spaceMy only complaint is that the doors sag when loaded with DVDs or CDs because the hinges are too weak
It is a really ingenious design and handles approximately the number of CDs and DVDs mentioned in the advertisement. It is solidly built and easy to use. It cleaned up a giant storage mess for me.
[...]Assembly was only to locate where you wanted to place the shelves. (Very easy)It held all my DVD's and had room for my VHS tapes. (I can copy them to DVD and get rid of the tapes now) Overall, this made a beautiful addition to my entertainment room. (Thank you)
