This version is so far above any other version (especially the "Hollywood" version) when it comes to portraying the era realistically - no sugar coating here. As a love story, it's easy to romanticize, but the impact is oh so much more profound when it is not. Every frame is b e a u t i f u l l y done. Two thumbs up - I only wish I had more thumbs!
