Why can't it go on and on (the show, not the war)?

History and drama together as good as it

Excellent home entertainment with terrific plots and subplots, all with a solid element of history, loaded with subtle insights. Not as engaging characters as, say, Winds of War, but far more than adequate for full satisfaction. Will enjoy for many reruns!

The Series is completely addicting. Honeysuckle Weeks and Michael Kitchen steal the entire show. The chemistry (completely innocent) between the two works so beautifully being professional but revealing distinct evidence of a unique friendship. While exceptionally entertaining, it is also a mini history lesson on some of the finer points and travails of society in WWII England.

Simply superb!

We watched it for entertainment. Occasionally we had difficulty understanding the English language. We assumed that aspects about the war in Britain were historically accurate and, accordingly, learned more about the war in Britain.

FOYLE'S WAR is the most exhilarting history study I've seen...I LOVE it!! Michael K. is excellent, as are the other characters. I was a child when WW2 happened, but watching this series gives me a grasp of what my parents and the nations involved were experiencing during those years. It stirs a great interest in the human drama; hopefully to learn rich lessons from earlier experiences.
