We loved the first series and have only watched one of the episodes in this new one, but it lived up to our high expectations.

Worth the wait and gorgeous in blu-ray

Although there are only two stories here, they are both about 90 minutes long, and among the best in what has been a truly superlative series. Martin Shaw is at his best as well, and Lee Ingleby, while he has been an acquired taste for me, is excellent. Blu-ray is not necessary to enjoy these, but they do look incredibly bright ad crisp.

I bought Series 4 along with Series 3 because the first two series were so good we didn't want to miss any stories with DCI George Gently and his Sergeant Baccus. Now we are looking forward to Series 5. Consistent good story telling, acting, and production. Big thumbs up!
