The Japanese people call this chest a ko cho tansu. Compact and elegant, it can serve many purposes, storing stationery, jewelry, pens, collections, craft supplies, or other small items in its four drawers. Made by a family of craftsmen, its clean lines embody the Zen principles of simple beauty (shibui), subtlety, and harmony.
