I bought this for my husband for Christmas because he had seen it in the catalog. It is just gorgeous! It's just what he wanted it to be: well made, beautiful color. It could be a little bigger, but that's the only thing I could complain about.Love it.
I bought this to sit on my coffee table and hold all the little things that accumulate in this new electronic age: notebooks with user names and passwords; extra cables; calculator; magnifying glass, etc. Now all the clutter is out of sight. Thanks so much!!
I am very happy with my purchase. I bought it as an accent piece for my livingroom. It looks great! I have absolutely no idea what some of the negative reviews were talking about, I am so glad I didn't let them influence my decision to purchase it.
The tansu is well made and looks great. I was able to put all of my envelopes, passports, stamps, checkbooks and mailing labels inside with no problem. It's a great little desk organizer and I plan on ordering another soon.
The drawers were too shallow to allow me to store items. For the price, I would have expected a hard wood. The drawers were not flush with the front. Cute idea though.
I bought it for my son and his wife. They seem to like it and are using it for odds and ins. Hard to rate it when I have not seen it.
I bought this as a jewellery case, and was surprised by the lack of quality in the wood itself. It is cheap and flimsy. Not at all worth the $150.
My husband and I liked the looks of this in the magazine and it looks just as good when we got it. He put it to use right away as a place to keep his watches.
This box is exactly as pictured. I am using it on my bathroom counter top to hold cosmetic items - overflow from my drawers. The only drawback is that the drawers don't slide perfectly.
I wanted this little chest to hold bills and other mailings or paper items that needed attention soon. It holds everything and I am so very pleased. I no longer have a pile of papers out in the open!
Bot it as needed a replacement for jewelry and other "things" storage. I like the looks of it, and the size of it. I am disappointed in the quality, such as drawers do not slide smoothly in and out. Drawers are very loose, not a great fit. Color and hardware are good.
I bought the desk as a birthday gift. I expected it to look "more distressed" and not "brand new". The workmanship was "fair". I don't think it was "value for the money spent".
I like it very much. It is great to place my Western jewelry such as rings and bracelets.
Excellent Construction;durable yet pleasant appearing finish; useful for organizing
I am very pleased with the lovely chest. It is well made, a beautiful finish, nice pulls. Well worth the wait!!
I am very interested in Japanese furnishings. I like handcrafted items that are keeping the traditions alive. This small tansu is very well made and a nice addition to my other small antique tansus.
Used as storage/organizer for knitting items.
I love this tansu. I received it as a birthday present from my mother and I wouldn't have picked anything else over it even though Acorn has tons of lovely things. My tansu is on my bureau holding my jewelry in it. (I am going to buy drawer inserts but that's only because of what I'm using it for. It isn't a fault with the tansu itself.) I adore that it is made in Japan and has the makers mark on it in kanji. The seams/joints are lovely and the design wonderful. It is simple elegance.
Bought this for my college age son to put keys, change or whatever - and he loves it. Well made.
I spent years as a teacher in Japan and have many old tansu chests and am on the lookout for new, authentic (and simple) chests that one day will be 'antique'; here it is
Nice design,poor quality.
We keep our current bills, coinage and spare keys in it. Keeps our room neat and tidy and looks great too.
