In Series 2, the stakes are higher, the stories grittier, and Murphy even more tormented. He takes on six different personas as he hunts for a serial killer, investigates a young officer’s death, joins an Interpol investigation, tracks down the truth about a biotech laboratory, solves a suicide in a convent, and has the chance to exact a very personal revenge.
 
 
Series Three (Discs 6 & 7)
Taking on the biggest challenge of his career, undercover cop Tommy Murphy (James Nesbitt,Cold Feet,Match Point) poses as a hit man to bring down a London crime boss and cop killer. He goes deeper underground than ever, faking an assassination, putting his life at risk, and sabotaging a complex, costly police operation in pursuit of a bigger prize.
 
The story builds through all six episodes, each darker than the last, as Murphy walks the line between deception and detection. A man with a tragic past, he has already lost friends, lovers, even his own daughter. Now he’s in danger of losing himself.

Episode 1
On compassionate leave to care for his mother, Murphy receives orders to infiltrate the Johnstone brothers, two hard-boiled Belfast criminals exiled to England. Billy is a violent thug, and Drew, a jailhouse convert to Islam, is engaged to the daughter of a wealthy Pakistani businessman. The story continues as Murphy finds himself more and more involved with the two brothers until he gets  caught in a final showdown.
 
 
Disc 2 (Series 5)
Episode 1
Two undercover officers, Mitch and Kim, have disappeared, and Murphy feels responsible. Both are his friends, and Kim is his protégé, a young woman with a bright future. Murphy follows a trail of clues that leads to a group of human traffickers and sex traders. The situations soon gets out of hand and Murphy’s cover is blown. Ignoring his superiors, he rushes to find Kim. Will this be the last straw for Murphy?

Episode 1

After a stolen police report compromises Murphy’s cover, a furious Billy follows him to Belfast, bent on retribution. Murphy gives Billy a choice: go to jail for a very long time, or work with him to learn the real reason for Drew’s upcoming marriage. Billy agrees but can he be trusted?
 
Episode 3
Billy disrupts Drew’s wedding, and the motive for the match becomes clear: it’s all about money and shadowy banking practices. Drew learns the painful truth about his new father-in-law’s plans for him. And Murphy gets caught in a final showdown between two brothers now forever estranged.
 
Disc 2 (Series 5)
Episode 1

Episode 3
With his cover blown and time running out for Kim, Murphy ignores orders from his superiors and locates her at last. Although she has endured a terrible ordeal, justice may evade her. For Murphy, it’s the last straw.

Episode 1:The Goodbye Look
Working as a covert arms dealer, Murphy is about to make an arrest when he realizes the man he’s dealing with is Caz Miller, an associate of the seemingly untouchable crime boss Dave Callard. Murphy abandons his original plan and sets his sights on Callard.

Episode 2:Disorganised Crime
Callard refers Murphy to the violent, bad-tempered McGeechan brothers. They need his help reactivating some illegal assault rifles, but they won’t say why. As Murphy tries to learn their plan, he makes a discovery about the man Callard has asked him to kill.

Episode 3:Strong Box
Callard wants counterfeit cash. Murphy calls in fellow undercover officer Jill Calder, who has infiltrated a dangerous ring of counterfeiters. If all goes well, Murphy will have more evidence against Callard, and Jill will get the man who’s making the phony euros.

Disc 2
Episode 4:Extra Mile
Exhausted and bitter, Murphy is ordered to investigate George Garvey, a wealthy, respected hotelier with suspected criminal connections to Callard. His boss, DS Rees, wants the collar and the career boost, but Murphy finds himself increasingly drawn to a woman from the underworld.

Episode 5:Boy’s Night Out
Murphy is ordered to testify in a murder case in which he must defend his integrity under cross-examination. At the same time, he helps Callard with an incoming heroin shipment—and sets up a police sting to take the drug lord down.

Episode 6:Hard-Boiled Eggs & Nuts
Murphy is in hiding with Caz Miller and Callard, who starts destroying evidence. Murphy and Miller worry he may destroy them as well, forcing Murphy to make his move.

Murphy goes undercover with Interpol to infiltrate a car-smuggling ring. Paired with a French agent named Benoit, he poses as an expert thief to impress the brains behind the ring, Godfrey Raines. Murphy soon has enough evidence to arrest Raines, but Benoit has a hidden agenda that puts both agents’ lives in danger.

The apparent suicide of a novice nun and the disappearance of another one prompt Murphy to don a priest’s robes and explore a local convent. There he finds that the nuns are in league with a drug company, a young Ugandan novice is deeply afraid, and the gardener has secrets. How many more will die before he learns the truth?

Episode 6:The Group
Murderers are being murdered. Is it coincidence or revenge? All the dead were named in a campaign run by Confront, a support group for relatives of murder victims. When Murphy joins the group, the true story of his own daughter’s death surfaces—and the identity of the man who killed her.
