St. Joseph, Protector of Houses
Husband to Mary, the mother of Jesus, Joseph was also a carpenter in Nazareth and Bethlehem. Because he built homes, he is revered today as the protector of houses and those who dwell in them. His image is often placed near the entrance or inside to watch over occupants and their guests. Inspired by medieval carvings, Hank Schlau’s sculpture of Joseph holding a carpenter’s square is hand-cast in a resilient architectural material for display indoors or out. 10" high. Story card included.
