“Old Ironsides” Model Ship
The USS Constitution launched in Boston on October 21, 1797, one of the first six ships in the new US Navy.
She defeated the British frigate HMS Guerriere in the War of 1812, earning her nickname when cannonballs bounced off her thick hull. Today she is the oldest warship still afloat. Made from a variety of woods, with working lines to tighten or loosen the rigging, this handcrafted model is based on the famous ship. 23"w x 17"h x 6"d, it comes with a brass nameplate, stand, and story card.
