Disc 1
Murder on the Orient Express

Poirot searches for a killer on a snowbound train.

While traveling from Istanbul to London aboard the luxurious Orient Express, Hercule Poirot (David Suchet) encounters a ruthless businessman who offers him a large sum to expose the person threatening his life. Poirot declines, not caring for the man or his money. But when he is stabbed to death, the detective is determined to find the killer. With the help of an amateur sleuth (Samuel West, Van Helsing), Poirot begins to piece together the train of events leading up to the murder.

Disc 2
Third Girl

Poirot tries to clear a woman framed for murder.

Distressed young heiress Norma Restarick comes to see Hercule Poirot (David Suchet) about “a murder she might have committed.” The detective consults an old acquaintance, crime novelist Ariadne Oliver (Zoë Wanamaker, My Family), who lives in the same building as the young woman and her two roommates. When Norma’s childhood nanny is found dead, apparently by suicide, Poirot believes he has identified the victim. Next he must deduce the killer, while Norma’s family fears for her sanity.

Disc 3
Appointment with Death

Poirot seeks the killer of a woman many wanted dead

Hercule Poirot (David Suchet) accompanies an archaeological expedition searching for the skull of John the Baptist in the Syrian Desert. What the team actually finds is a more recent corpse: the body of Lady Boynton, wife of expedition leader Lord Boynton (Tim Curry, The Rocky Horror Picture Show). The woman had made many enemies during her life, and Poirot has no shortage of suspects. He digs through layers of history to discover who had motive enough to kill.

Good series, not great but good

Good overall series. Great sets and costumes, good acting as well. The main detractors are the bloodiness and profanity, as well as a lack of humor present in the earlier series.

Great Collection

Fro over 20 years, Suchet has been very entertaining. I have collected this series avidly. I am sorry to see this production nearing it`s inevitable end as they are exhausting the available material. Can`t say enough about this series. i wish I had the privilege of working on a production of this quality.

Have the entire Christie/Poirot collection, this "movie collection" did not meet my expectations, I was disappointed. David Suchet was excellent as usual but the portrayal of Poirot was over the top and harsh. I missed the additions of Hastings, Miss Lemon and Insp. Japp. Poirot is getting older but not mellower.

David Suchet in Murder/Orient Express

The character development of Hercule Poirot as portrayed by David Suchet is remarkable. As Poirot ages, religion and spirituality are coming to the forefront of his thoughts. He struggles with his beliefs in light of the murder and what he uncovers. In the end, he makes a very difficult choice and the viewer is privy to an exceptional and heartfelt performance. Bravo to David Suchet.
