The sound is a bit "muddy"...otherwise , I love it.

An addition to a beloved record

I grew up listening to the record of Beyond the Fringe so often that I had most of the monologues memorized. So I could not resist buying the filmed version. The best aspect, of course, is that some of these monologues are new?Oand the most disappointing, that not all of those on the recording have been filmed. If one had to choose between aural and visual/aural renditions, I myself would choose the record; however, the film is a wonderful addition to the record. I feel lucky to have been able to purchase it.

It was a real treat to see this, after years of hearing about it. The sound left a teeny bit to be desired, but, as this was recorded 50 years ago, it didn't matter. I have complete series of about 20 British shows, ranging from Monty Python to the Vicar of Dibley and lots inbetween. All I need now is for someone to put out the Two Ronnies 18 DVD set out for region 1, as well as Up Pompeii, and so on. It's kind of amazing that shows that are 40+ years old are still better than anything we get here in 2012. Keep up the great work!

A brilliant comedy classic.

The film stock used for this may be old, but it captures a brilliant live performance from the early 60s.Cook, Miller, Bennett and Moore are all brilliant. The sketches are varied, including full cast pieces, dialogues, monologues and satirical musical pieces from Moore. Not to be missed.
