This is fairly off-beat, a little fairy-talish, but the sets and acting were good, and we did enjoy it.

Great madness

Like all of Terry Pratchett books about Discworld, this movie included the wonderfully strange characters and sheer madness of the stories. Will enjoy a second watching to see all the nuances I probably missed.

I saw a trailer for this movie some time ago and thought, 'Wow, that's really weird! It's going to be great or awful but I'm willing to take a chance.' So we took it out of the library and loved it! It got the whole family reading Terry Pratchett's Diskworld series, a genre of writing I could not have imagined enjoying before I started. Be careful though: If you see this movie, you may feel compelled to read the 37 books in the series.

To tell the truth, I never heard of Terry Pratchett or his DISCWORLD books/videos. I bought this DVD because I like ALL things BRITISH. WHAT A SURPRISE !! After viewing the DVD, I researched Mr Pratchett and now I'm HOOKED. I have already bought several MORE of his DISCWORLD DVDs and might delve into the books he has written. This title has just the right elements of drama, comedy, suspense, and a lot of surprises in it. It is best to view the whole movie in one sitting so as to not loose track of the subplots involved. The movie comes with a director's commentary, deleted scenes, cast, crew, and fan interviews, a 'blooper reel. and image galleries. This the LATEST production and more are promised. I sure hope so. Like I said, I'M HOOKED.
