You just can't go wrong with Kevin Whately--I first watched "The Broker's Man, Series 1" and couldn't wait for Series 2 to become available. Kevin is always top-notch--smart, likeable, and full of integrity--and the other cast members are great as well, plus the stories are very, very clever. I'd watch anything Kevin is in..but this series has so much more to recommend itself. Definitely five stars!

Having enjoyed Kevin's acting in Morse and Lewis, I thought I would have a go watching this first installment of the "The Brokers's Man." I thought I might have a mental adjustment period but not so. Kevin Whately provides an excellent performance as an ex-cop turned insurance fraud investigator. His character's low key but determined approach to solving each challenge is spot on. The writing style develops the supporting characters in concert with "Jimmy Griffin" ensuring a good mesh of professional and private lives. After watching and enjoying the first series I have ordered Series 2-4. Well done Lewis.

My wife and I are big Kevin Whately fans, especially the Inspector Lewis Series with the additional characters of Hathaway and Laura. And we watch Inspector Morse with a very young Kevin Whately. Then we discovered this "in-between" Series (The Broker's Man) which I assume only had 1 season--right? We found the 1st episode off-putting, but the next 2 got increasingly better with a good finale. So we would give it 3+1/2 Stars overall.

I enjoyed these 2 series. I would like to know if there were more episodes of Broker's man. I think this is Kevin whately's best part. I enjoyed Vera. I think the series itself is dark in tone but incredibly well done.
